Plamen Dolapchiev was born in Veliko Tarnovo. He graduated from “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Music Academy in Sofia in the opera-singing class of Associate Prof. Konstantsa Vachkova (1995).

He debuted on the professional stage in the roles of Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti at the Ruse Opera (1994) and Alfredo in La traviata by Verdi at the Burgas Opera (1995).


In the season of 1995-1996 he was a soloist with the Stara Zagora Opera.

In 1996 he took part in the premiere performances of Stiffelio by Verdi in the part of Raffaele at the March Music Days International Music Festival in Ruse. Since 1996 he has been soloist with the Varna State Opera, where he performs the leading tenor parts in operas and operettas: La traviata, Rigoletto and Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi, Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II and Bulgarians of Olden Times by Asen Karastoyanov.
