Geo Chobanov was born in Varna. In 2006 he graduated from “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Music Academy in Sofia in the opera-singing class of Prof. Niko Isakov. He debuted as a soloist on an opera stage in the role of Masetto in Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart at the March Music Days International Festival in Ruse under the conductorship of Velizar Genchev (2006).

From 2007 to 2009 he was soloist with the Ruse State Opera. Since 2010 he has been soloist with the Varna State Opera.

His repertoire includes the roles of Don Pedro in Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart, the Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlos by Giuseppe Verdi, Don Basilio in The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini and Colline in La boheme by Giacomo Puccini. He has participated in spectacles of the Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas Operas and guest-performed in France, Germany, Switzerland (the Solothurn Open Air Festival).
