Plamen Dimitrov was born in Varna. He finished “Dobri Hristov” National School of the Arts in his native city. In 2002 he graduated from “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” National Music Academy in Sofia in the opera-singing class of Prof. Blagovesta Karnobatlova-Dobreva.

He improved his vocal technique under the guidance of the long-term soloist of the Varna Opera – Georgi Koychev.

In 2010 he became soloist with the Varna State Opera.  

His repertoire includes Marcello and Schaunard in La boheme, Scarpia in Tosca and Sharpless in Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini, Raimbaud in Le comte Ory by Gioachino Rossini, Rodrigue in Don Carlos, Amonasro in Aida, Count di Luna in Il trovatore,  Giorgio Germont in La traviata and Rigoletto in the opera of the same name by Giuseppe Verdi, Papageno in The Magic Flute and Masetto in Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart, Escamillo in Carmen by Georges Bizet, Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, Tonio and Silvio in Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo.
