Boyka Vasileva was born in Slivnitsa. She graduated from the State Music Academy in the class of Prof. Lili Stefanova.

She won the third prize at “Svetoslav Obretenov” Competition in 1986.

In 1988 she won the second prize and two special prizes named after Tullio Serafin and Nino Vianello at the Opera Competition in Adria, Italy.

 

 

She specialized in opera singing in Alden Biesen, Belgium (1987), in Florence under the guidance of Italian baritone Gino Bechi (1988) and in Rome at Accademia di Bulgaria under the guidance of Maestro Boris Hristov (1989).

She joined the troupe of the Varna Opera in 1988. Parts that stand out in her repertoire are Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera, Carmen in the eponymous opera, Azucena in Il trovatore, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte and Fenena in Nabucco.

She has guest-performed in Greece, France, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Egypt, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
